I have a huge imagination. I know. I think of crazy ideas that won't manifest. But they are nice ideas and I don't care what you say!
Anyway, I've been thinking a lot about this.
So the ivy league schools should form a charity connection and name it League of heroes. Haha. I'm so punny. And later, they can extend it to qualifying schools that apply for membership in the league (idk how the process would work, probably questions about what this group could contribute, how it's a fit for the mission, how it is already contributing, etc.) Each individual school is a team. Basically it's like a game, but also a fundraiser.
The school can take turns hosting either games or collaborative fundraisers (creative). These can include things like invention day or multicultural food day, or petting zoo day or just a regular concert or gala or talent show. The point is to be inventive. Obviously, there will also be team gear on sale online and at the games. And for the games, this can be more fun. They can include a scavenger hunt, in the mall, after dark, while trying to avoid security cops. Or human slingshot or a real life game of plants versus zombies or mario karts. The winner of these games get points. OK while I'm talking about points, obviously there are other. To watch the game live, people have to pay. But I was thinking that people should pick teams. The first team they pick is free. You can switch alliance at any time, but you have to pay for that too. Obviously there will be a complex online banking system that will take care of everything. The winning team rewards the points evenly to current members. So the team with the highest points is not necessarily the team that wins the most but it could be because the members have points, yes, you take your points with you when you switch. Each college should also host local charity events around their own areas such as foodbanks and such. The number of people that attend the event is how many points the team gets. Members who personally show up and participate receive bonus points. At the end, all colleges should direct the money raised towards one charity, and there can be a panel discussion/debate over which is best. Then after that, each college should think of a way to personally contribute to the charity. Whether it is going there and teaching arts, reading. Or designing something or engineering something that would greatly help them, or come up and put into practice a way of making things better in the charity. They have to utilize at least one department of the school for the idea and the idea has to have impact or inflict some kind of change. The individual member with the most points will be given college gear from the last team that they were on, and a choice of an award (concert tickets, event tickets, meet a famous person, whatever is possible).
I don't know I just think it's a cool idea.
