You know what really bothers me? People labeling TV shows "dark", I mean I get the fact that 'Breaking Bad' and some of "Sherlock' had dark-ish elements within the show, but it shows the consequences of bad intentions. Things end the way they start. If something starts bad, it will no doubt end badly. If you deal and make meth, people are going to get shot. It's perfectly logical to assume that. And also, you might die and your family might fall to shit. These are elements that seem realistic going into the situation, it's not dark.
If you're a supervillain and you plan to wreck havoc or what not, you will hurt people. But, you can either get away, or die. That seems logical too. I MEAN ALL I ASK FOR IS SOME KIND OF PRACTICALITY. Aren't we a little too old to believe in miracles and things always going your way. By now, we all now that isn't true.
This brings me to my complaint about children's shows, movies, and books. It bugs me so much that characters always have happy endings in situations that shouldn't have a happy ending. I mean what is the CHANCE that will happen in real life, if the same problem was placed in a realistic setting. People would die. That's what.
Children grow up in this world idealistic. Now I don't have a problem with that. It's innocence. But once in a while, they should get a dose of reality and come to see that it doesn't work out every time. This naivety carries over to adulthood with them. I mean some people never grow out of this phase (I'm sure you all now one person like such). This is shown mostly in girls (sorry). Boys snap out of innocence long before because they are the knights of the stories. They are the ones that actually have to face danger in order for the girls and princesses to be happy. So they know about real life. They're more exposed. We don't see the 'behind the scenes' action, we just now that they'll be with us. We don't realize that maybe a lot of them die or get eaten and only the bravest, strongest one ends up alive.
That explains the attraction girls have to ROMCOMS. My god, those movies are so stupid that I want to scratch my eyes out. It's predictable, shallow, and impractical. Also, the acting is usually horrendous and the characters are stupid. I see people posting on social media of wanting this type of man or complaining why their life can't be the way they imagine. Well. Keyword. Imagine. Maybe have more reachable goals, work on yourself instead of expecting everything to just magically fall into place because- spoiler alert- that's not going to happen.
Wake the fuck up and smell the putrid stench of a decaying generation.
